Motorola EM330

MOTO EM330 is packed with features that you can’t live without, such as a touch-sensitive external screen, a rich music experience and high-quality audio performance, all at a price that can’t be beat. With EM330 there is no need to compromise what you want, for what you can afford.

Size and Weight :
The EM330 is made of hard silver plastic. It feels a bit cheap, but the matte finish and mirrored front panel help improve the look. The handset measures 3.7 by 2.0 by 0.7 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.2 ounces.

Network and connectivity:
This phone provides tri-band GSM coverage (850/1800/1900 MHz) for voice as well as GPRS/EDGE connectivity for receiving data. AT&T's EDGE network offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. Providing average data speeds between 75-135Kbps, it's fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services, including music downloads, full picture messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go. The handset features Motorola's proprietary CrystalTalk circuitry, which improves voice call quality.

Camera and Video:
The 1.3-megapixel camera can record videos, but there is no flash or autofocus. It's easy to store photos on memory cards, since the setting is in the top menu level in camera mode. But you won't want to: Test photos were almost all unusable, whether taken indoors or out. Seriously, I've never before seen lawn grass on a sunny day rendered as one giant, blotchy patch of green and that was with the quality and resolution settings cranked. Indoor photos in medium light, meanwhile, looked as if someone had applied a blur effect in Photoshop, even when the focus was sharp. The video camera recorded the usual 176-by-144-pixel 3GP thumbnails—smooth, but overly dim and ultimately useless. The maximum photo resolution 640x480 pixels with 4x digital zoom.

Memory and Display:
The EM330 comes with 30MB of built in memory & has a memory card option which allows the user to add a memory card up to 2GB in size dependant on the users memory requirements. The phone supports MicroSD™ type memory cards which can be added to the handset easily. The entry-level Motorola EM330 clamshell phone has a 1.8-inch internal screen with a 128 x 160-pixel resolution and support for 65K colors. It's complemented by an external monochrome screen on the flip, which displays current time, signal strength, battery life, and incoming calls as well as the current playing song.

Entertainment Features:
The EM330 is compatible with MP3 and AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ digital audio formats. Whether you like jamming to rock, chilling to reggae, or keeping up with the latest pop tracks, the EM330 has you covered with a built-in audio equalizer to enhance the music experience. It also features preset equalizer settings for 11 types of music. If you fancy your music with a bit more bite, you can even boost the bass up to nine decibels for a booming, thumping sound. It also includes an integrated FM radio so you can keep up with your favorite talk shows and sporting events while on the go. The FM radio brought in NPR cleanly but had trouble with a usually reliable local station in Boston. The Motorola EM330 supports video playback in many video formats including MPEG4, H264 & H263. The user can enjoy playing their video clips or video clips which have been sent & shared from their contacts at a playback rate of between 26 to 30 frames per second. The EM330 offers a full range of email, text, and multimedia messaging options. It includes support for mobile email services such as AOL, Yahoo!, AT&T Yahoo!, BellSouth, and Windows Live. You can also keep up with your instant messaging buddies using the built-in IM application that connects to those same services.
