Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition

The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition is a DVB-H enabled handset aimed at those markets where a mobile digital TV rollout is taking place. The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV edition (or just "MTVE" for short) launches today, ushering in a new era for Mobile TV. The stunning-looking device is sure to drive appeal amongst the 300 million people expected to be watching mobile TV around the world by 2012. The 5330 isn’t just about Mobile TV though, this 3G speed machine also packs in the latest in social networking, music and gaming in one sleek slide-design.

Size and Weight :
The dimension of this phone is 101.2 mm x 48.5 mm x 14.25 mm & it weighs 114 gram.

Network and connectivity:
The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition is a phone supporting EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 EGSM, WCDMA 850/1900/2100, 2G Network (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900), 3G Network (UMTS 850 / 1900 / 2100), UMTS 900 / 1700 / 2100. Memory and Display:
Thanks to the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition's DVB-H technology, programs burst through the QVGA screen in full-color, crystal clear, sharp images. It's perhaps a strange phone for mobile TV - the 5330's display is a standard 2.4" 240 x 320 pixel panel which isn't exactly huge. The DVB-H picture displays in landscape (wide) mode, so it does make the best use of the limited display. Internal memory of this phone is 70 MB, it canbe expand up to 16GB.

Entertainment Features :
Plug in 3.5mm headphones for personal viewing or use the loudspeaker option to share the experience with friends and family. With one-click access to live broadcasts, the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition can pick up the best channels around. Set reminders for favorite shows to make sure key episodes aren't missed and create personal channel lists with Nokia's innovative Electronic Program Guide (EPG) for a truly tailored mobile broadcast TV experience. The device also packs Nokia Messaging so users can keep on top of email and Instant Messaging, the latter supporting Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ and AOL amongst others. It’s media player supports MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV & MP3/eAAC+/WAV/WMA. The phone also contains WAP (2.0/xHTML, HTML), Stereo FM radio with RDS, Games.

The Nokia 5330 was notable for being an exceptionally ugly device to look at, but the MVTE version has been redone in glossy black with silver highlights and looks much better - Nokia say that there is a glossy white version available too.
