Sony Ericsson Satio

Sony Ericsson has finally launched the Satio. The focus of the phone is the high class playback of music and video, as well as photography. The camera is located on the back of the phone, behind a slider and features a xenon flash. On the side of the phone, there is a shutter button, and a button which allows you to switch between still and video modes. Next to this is a rocker switch for zooming in and out. Also on this side is a button for playback of photos or video. The other side of the phone has a sliding lock button and a covered slot for a MicroSD card.

Size and Weight :
The Sony Ericsson Satio is, at first glance, a rather average-looking handset by today's standards. It takes on the usual tablet form factor with a large touchscreen up front. The actual size of the Satio is 112mm x 55mm x 13mm (4.4in x 2.2in x 0.5in), which is fairly average for a smartphone these days. It weighs in at a extensive 126g (4.4oz), but doesn't feel overly heavy in a trouser pocket. The Satio is altogether a handsome handset, though not especially original or exciting.

Network and connectivity:
A special operational system Symbian is installed on Sony Ericsson Satio. It has Wi-Fi support and due to touchscreen technologies the display can reflect QWERTY keypad. It supports 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900; 3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100; HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 - Satio(a) for the Americas. It also supports aGPS, Bluetooth technology, Modem, PC Synchronization, USB support & mass storage, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, DLNA, Google Maps, PictBridge, TV Out.

Memory and Display:
The Sony Ericsson Satio is, at first momentary look, a rather average-looking handset by today's standards. It takes on the usual tablet form factor with a large touchscreen up front, accompanied by a trio of buttons below. These buttons comprise a call send key, call end key, and the main menu button. Above the 3.5" nHD (360 x 640 pixel) resistive touchscreen display. The display is capable of showing over 16 million colors and has pretty good bright sunlight legibility, as well. It has internal storage of 128 MB; 256 MB RAM. Card slot microSD, up to 32GB, 8GB included.

Camera and Video:
One of the main advantages of the new mobile phone Sony Ericsson Satio is a 12.1 MP (can use 2MP, 9MP, 10MP and 12MP modes) camera with xenon flash and automatic face and smile detector, Digital Zoom - up to 16x, 4000 x 3000 pixels, Touch Capture, Auto-focus, Video recording (640x480 @ 30 FPS, WVGA 864x480 @ 24 FPS via software update), Video light, Secondary video call camera, Video blogging, Geo-Tagging, BestPic, Face detection, Image stabilizer, Photo fix, Picture blogging, Red-eye reduction, Smile detection.

Entertainment Features :
The Satio is a full-featured smartphone that 3D games, Java, Media, FM radio, Video Clip, Video streaming, YouTube. In terms of software, Satio uses the Symbian OS 9.4 operating system, which is created collaboratively under the stewardship of the Symbian Foundation. It will use the PlayNow service, Sony Ericsson's mobile content platform, and is part of the company's new Entertainment Unlimited service. In terms of connectivity, it is Wi-Fi-enabled and has a GPS chip for navigation and location-based services. It also supports full Flash for video playback. Satio will be available in selected markets from early Q4 in the colours; Black, Silver and Bordeaux.
