Verizon DROID 2

Android Power blogger JR Raphael posts Verizon's multimedia files for the Droid 2. That's Verizon's (VZ) unannounced original Droid replacement (pictured at right). And this is the least of Verizon's leak concerns.

Size and weight:
The device is about 4.6 inches tall by 2.4 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and weighs 6 ounces.

Network and connectivity:
DROID 2 packs power and speed. Customers can enjoy the freedom of wireless with the 3G Mobile HotSpot and the ability to connect up to five compatible Wi-Fi® devices.

Memory and Display:
In terms of storage, the Droid 2 packs a respectable 8GB of internal space. The original Motorola Droid, as those of us who own it know all too well, is limited to a relatively puny 256MB internally. Which can be upgraded to a 32 GB SD card for a total cargo capacity of 40 GB. The Droid 2 should be considerably faster than its predecessor, with a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. The Droid 2 has the same 3.7-inch screen and basic structure as the original Motorola Droid. In addition to the physical slider keyboard, the Droid 2 will offer a virtual keyboard for quick text input (searches and the like) directly from the screen without having to pop out the keyboard.

Camera and Video:
The Droid 2 captured on the 5-megapixel camera with enhanced functionality and DVD-quality video capture with DLNA connectivity to share on compatible devices.

Entertainment Features:
Adobe Flash Player 10.1 lets mobile users experience millions of websites the way they were meant to be seen – with rich Internet applications (RIAs), content inside the browser, including games, animations, data presentations and visualizations, e-commerce, music, video, audio and more.
