The RIM BlackBerry Tour 9630 offers world-roaming capabilities as well as Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The smartphone offers a great design that combines a sharp display and an easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard in a fairly compact size. Long awaited, the RIM BlackBerry Tour 9630 has finally arrived in town, and it's putting on quite a show. As the replacement to the RIM BlackBerry 8830 World Edition, the Tour offers 3G world roaming capabilities and brings a number of improvements in all three departments of design, features, and performance.

Light at 130g and with good proportions (112x62x14.2mm) the Tour feels "just right", not too small and certainly not too big either. The display is 2.4" and really is pixel perfect. The colours are vibrant and the text crystal clear making for the perfect user experience.

To any existing Blackberry user, the keypad feels like home from home. Well spaced keys and the perfectly placed trackball let you whizz through menus and send e-mails with utter ease & as with the Storm, holding down the menu key lets you switch easily between open applications which speeds use up no-end.

Aside from being the perfect business companion, the Tour knows how to let it's hair down too. With full multimedia capabilities, expandable memory upto 8gb and a 3.2Mp camera on board you can shoot video, geo-tag or listen to as much music as you like when it's time to chill.

Some Disadvantages:The smartphone lacks Wi-Fi. The Web browser falls short of the competition, and there's a bit of shutter lag on the camera. You can't save applications to a media card.

Its 1400 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 5 hours of talk time, and up to 336 hours (14 days) of standby time. It runs on the 800/1900 MHz CDMA frequencies and is compatible with the EV-DO 3G data network when on the Verizon network in the US; in international territories, it's compatible with 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks as well as 2100 MHz 3G (UMTS) networks.
